Short answer: Current Dollar Tree associates change their direct deposit, home address and tax withholding in Workday self service. Former associates can update their address on Doculivery. Make bank changes well before payday so your next check doesn’t go to a closed account.
Dollar Tree moved these self-service tasks to Workday. Here’s what to look for, and how to avoid the most common direct deposit mistakes.
What to change, and where
Dollar Tree’s Associate Information Center says that for current associates, “all address changes, tax withholding, and direct deposit changes” go through Workday self service. It names these Workday tasks:
| You want to | Workday task to look for |
|---|---|
| Add or change your bank account (direct deposit) | Add Payment Elections |
| Update your home address or phone | Change My Home Contact Information |
| Change your federal tax withholding (W-4) | Maintaining Tax Elections for US Associates |

Task names in Workday can change slightly. If you can’t find one, type a keyword like “payment elections” or “tax” into the Workday search bar.
Changing your direct deposit: step by step
- Have your bank’s routing number and your account number ready. You’ll find both in your bank app or on a check.
- Sign in to Workday and open the payment elections task.
- Add the new account. Type the numbers carefully and double-check them.
- Choose how your pay is split if you’re using more than one account.
- Submit, then keep your old account open until you see a paycheck land in the new one.
Timing: why your next check might still go to the old account
Payroll runs before payday, so a change made close to payday may not apply until the following check. Make the change as early as you can in the pay period. Dollar Tree pays every two weeks; see the 2026 pay period calendar for dates.
If a deposit goes to a closed account, the bank usually returns it to the employer, which then has to reissue it. That can take days, so it’s worth waiting one cycle before closing an old account.
Changing your address
Update your home address in Workday as soon as you move. Your W-2 is mailed to the address on file, so this matters most before January. Former associates who need to update their address can do it on Doculivery, according to Dollar Tree. See when Dollar Tree W-2s come out.
Changing your tax withholding (W-4)
Your W-4 choices decide how much federal income tax is taken out of each check. You might update it after a change such as getting married, having a child, picking up a second job, or getting a big refund or bill at tax time.
The IRS has a free Tax Withholding Estimator that shows what to enter. After you submit a change in Workday, check your next paystub to confirm the new amount. See how to read your paystub.
Need help?
Dollar Tree’s Associate Information Center says associates can contact the Payroll Department or create a case in Workday for pay problems. Your store manager can also point you in the right direction.
Stay safe: only make these changes inside Workday. Be very wary of anyone who asks for your bank details or password by text, social media or a link, even if they say they’re from payroll. Don’t reply; check with your manager or through Workday instead.
