The 401(k) match, explained
Dollar Tree’s careers site describes “an exceptional 401(k) program with a dollar-for-dollar match on the first 5% of associate contributions.”
In plain terms: if you put in 5% of your pay, Dollar Tree adds another 5%. Put in less, and the match is smaller.
| You contribute | Dollar Tree matches | Total going in |
|---|---|---|
| 1% | 1% | 2% |
| 3% | 3% | 6% |
| 5% | 5% | 10% |
| 8% | 5% | 13% |
If you can afford it, contributing at least 5% means you aren’t leaving any match on the table. Check the plan documents for eligibility and vesting rules, which decide when the matched money is fully yours.
DailyPay: get paid before payday
Dollar Tree pays every two weeks, but its careers site lists DailyPay, “a voluntary benefit that gives associates the convenience of getting paid on the day they choose.” It’s optional. Check any transfer fees in the DailyPay app before you use it. See Does Dollar Tree pay weekly or biweekly?
Does Dollar Tree have an employee discount?
Dollar Tree’s benefits page lists vendor discounts, meaning reduced rates from outside companies “on everything from products and merchandise to memberships.” It doesn’t describe a store-wide discount on Dollar Tree merchandise, so ask your store manager about current store policies.
